2003 Shiraz
Our 2003 Shiraz was handpicked prior to being crushed at the winery and fermented on skins. During the seven day ferment the wine was pumped over three times a day to gain maximum skin contact. This shiraz was matured in 20% new American oak barriques, the remaining 80% in 2 year old American barriques.
Recognised as a benchmark cool climate shiraz Merricks Estate 2003 is round and supple with aromas and flavours of black fruits, liquorice and spice including intense white pepper and cedar characters.
