Since 1982 we have produced high quality estate grown wines. The Merricks Estate label is known for its older vintaged wines. All the grapes are handpicked and our vines are some of the oldest in the region.

Thompson’s Lane Range

The Merricks Thompson’s Lane range boasts the same dedication to quality winemaking as the Estate label, but it is released earlier to be drunk younger and with a lower price tag.

Tasting Notes

This deep crimson cabernet has vibrant aromas of cassis,  blueberry, spice and mushroom. The palate reveals spice, cassis and a hint of earthiness which leads to a firm tannic finish.

90 James Halliday

There is no question that the ability of the Mornington Peninsula to ripen cabernet sauvignon has improved. Bright crimson, the wine is lively, fresh and, above all else, it has no green characters. Cedar and cassis aromas translate into the medium-bodied palate where fine-grained tannins lend support on the long, medium-bodied finish. Enjoy over the next 6 years.

“The strong presence of mint is offset by fragrant red fruit aromasand spicy oak; the palate reveals high levels of acidity, tightly wound red fruits and succulent fine-grained tannins that finish dry and assertively.” James Halliday
